Insightful...
While just strolling around the World Wide Web this morning, I came across an amazing video from image-maker Alexander Tsiaras. He shares this powerful medical visualization,
showing human development from conception to birth and beyond.
Watching this video, led me to the TED website. TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts.
Another video available on the TED site is from Susan Cain, The Power of Introverts. "Susan Cain is a former corporate lawyer and negotiations consultant -- and a self-described introvert. At least one-third of the people we know are introverts, notes Cain in her new book Quiet. Although our culture undervalues them dramatically, introverts have made some of the great contributions to society – from Chopin's nocturnes to the invention of the personal computer to Gandhi’s transformative leadership. Cain argues that we design our schools, workplaces, and religious institutions for extroverts, and that this bias creates a waste of talent, energy, and happiness. Based on intensive research in psychology and neurobiology and on prolific interviews, she also explains why introverts are capable of great love and great achievement, not in spite of their temperaments -- but because of them."
Being an introvert myself, I thoroughly enjoyed, and can personally relate to this video. If you are one of that 33.3% of the population considered as Introvert, you will probably enjoy this as well. And if you are counted in the other 66.6%, you may very well enjoy it too! :-)
