Pensacola Quilt Show

Back in March, I went to the Pensacola Quilt Show with a group of quilting friends... and I'm finally getting around to sharing some pictures..  Procrastination in my middle name! ;-)

There were so many beautiful quilts!  Here are a few of my favorites.

When I look at a quilt, I always try to see how it was made-- because one day, I might like to try to make one of my own...  :-)  (Imitation is the greatest compliment!)  These first three appear to be made using versions on a Dresden Fan or Dresden Plate...  Beautiful!  :-)

The next two look to be Snail's Trail type blocks?  Cute monkies!  :-)

These two quilts were made using Oriental prints, which I just love!

There were several "stack & whack" type quilts, which are some of my favorites- --they  are just so much fun to make!

The next four pictures are just random.. sweet little appliqued bunnies,  florals, string blocks, a pretty star-type pattern, and yo yo's---prettiness! :-)

Here is a Courthouse Steps quilt that is just gorgeous!!  Love the colors!

And last, but not least, probably my most favorite quilt block of all--- Sunbonnet Sue.... love all the little details on these blocks... just adorable!

Happy First Birthday, Clarabel!

Saturday, May 5, Clarabel turned one year old!  Her first year has truly flown by, and she is just getting prettier and sweeter every single day!

We celebrated her special day with a small party, including Mommy, Daddy, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, and cousins.   After a delicious lunch of taco salad and enchiladas--- the perfect menu for Cinco de Mayo, Clarabel opened her gifts, blew out her candle, and we enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream, then she played, and played, and played... until she was all tuckered out, and had to take a nice, long nap.  We ended the day rocking on the screen porch as we watched the "Super Moon" rise, while the fireflies entertained us with their light-show!

Happy birthday, my sweet baby girl!

This is the Birthday Outfit that I made for Clarabel's first birthday party-- complete with cupcake bloomers and birthday crown!  The beautiful fabrics were a prize that I won from Me and My Sister Designs .  The exciting, vivid colors were just perfect for such a happy occasion!
